The Alliance Française de Bulawayo and and its annex in Victoria Falls offer several opportunities for children to learn the French language from as early as 5 years to 12. The classes are held every Saturday morning on each of the two sites. There are also French Clubs open in several public and private primary schools in both cities. These different options are strongly rooted in the early foreign language learning initiative which is stipulated by the 2015 guidelines of the Zimbabwe ministry of Education.

A precocious and playful learning of French puts the child in touch with the phrasing and sound of the language. Their ears are trained to listen as well as to understand the language. In addition to this familiarization which will facilitate learning, early learning of a foreign language promotes interculturality, mutual understanding and for them to be more open to different cultures.
